Boycott News goha _WRITES "FIFA to consider freezing Israel out
The International Football Federation (FIFA) Executive Committee will look into Jordan's request to freeze Israel's participation in FIFA events. Responding to a letter from HRH Prince Ali, president of the Jordan Football Federation, FIFA President Joseph "Sepp" Blatter said the committee would "deal with the matter at its next meeting on May 3, 2002."

On April 2 Prince Ali sent a letter to Blatter, urging that the football community "freeze Israel's participation in this noble sport... until such time as Israel abides by international law, UN resolutions and the will of the world; and restores dignity and freedom to the occupied people of Palestine." Prince Ali's letter, circulated to world regional football federations, as well as the Asian and Arab football federations, was followed by cables of support from football officials in the region.
