Trade unions begin blokcade of Israeli products
The trade union movements in Oslo will on Tuesday begin a blockade of Israeli products, preventing the goods from leaving the warehouses.
The Transport Workers' Union will barricade the warehouses belonging to the importers of fruit and vegetables, stopping the delivery of Israeli produce, Dagsavisen writes.
The union says the blockade will last until the Israeli military actions against Palestinians are stopped.
-If the grocery chains want any wares, they first have to remove the Israeli products, says union spokesman Thorbjoern Kristoffersen.
The blockade comes after the leader of the Norwegian Federation Trade Unions, Gerd Liv Valla, in her speech on May 1st called for a boycott of Israeli products.
However, up to now, Norwegian consumers have not boycotted Israeli products.
Most of the major grocery chains say they have not registered any decline in the sale of Israeli goods.

Sent in by Salwa de Vree, in Leiden, The Netherlands, further to my earlier posting in which the Norwegian TUC calls for the boycott of Israeli goods.
This is a good example for other countries to follow and to encourage activists to convince consumers to buy selectively, which will in turn, make supermarkets and shops more willing to stop importing Israeli goods & services."
